General Rental Conditions

Rental prices include liability insurance with no deductible, unlimited kilometers, deliveries and pick-ups in Madalena, VAT at the current government rate, maintenance, and 24-hour assistance. All extras not included are charged at the current public rate, as well as the general rental conditions.

1. Minimum Rental

The rental has a minimum period of 24 hours. For each hour of delay, 20% of the daily rate will be charged; delays exceeding 2 hours will incur an additional cost of 1 extra day of rental.

    2.Driver's Age

The minimum age for the driver is 23 years, with one year of driving experience. However, rentals will be allowed with the additional payment of a Young Driver fee of €3.00 per day, up to a maximum of €30 per rental.

    3.Cancellations

1. For confirmed rentals, cancellations must be made up to 1 week before the start of the rental, and 50% of the total reservation amount will be refunded.

2. For cancellations during the 7 days before the start of the rental, the refund is 0%.

3. In case of no-show, 100% of the total rental value will be charged.

   4.Reservations

Rental terms, delivery, and return dates constitute a commitment.

   5.Payments

1. The estimated rental cost should be settled at the time of booking, and the final adjustment will be made upon termination. For the deposit, the customer must have a credit card or €250 (in cash). The deposit will be refunded at the end of the rental if there are no issues with the rented vehicle.

2. Invoices will be issued at the end of the rental.

   6.Documents and Equipment

The vehicle is delivered with a helmet and all corresponding documentation.

   7.Vehicle Maintenance

The customer assumes responsibility for the proper use and maintenance of the vehicle.

   8.Vehicle Return

1. The rental ends at the date and time specified in the contract. If you wish to alter the rental period, you must notify us in advance.

2. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was delivered, except for normal wear and tear.

   9.Out-of-Hours Fee

A fee of €15 will be charged whenever the customer picks up or returns the vehicle before or after the establishment's operating hours.

   10.Breakdowns

All breakdowns not caused by normal vehicle wear and tear are the customer's responsibility. Any damage caused by impacts on the underside and wheels will also be the customer's responsibility.

   11.Accidents

In case of an accident, the customer commits to inform the company by phone and confirm in writing within 24 hours, as well as provide all information to the local authorities.

   12.Usage

The customer commits to using the vehicle only for personal purposes, respecting the laws of Portugal.

   13.Expenses during the Rental Period

Fuel and fines during the rental period are not included.

   14.Fuel

The vehicle is delivered with a full tank and must be returned in the same condition. In case of non-compliance, a refueling surcharge of €15 plus the value of the missing fuel will be charged.

  15.Damage Liability

The customer is responsible for all damages or losses caused to the vehicle, as well as for any days of immobilization.

  16.Travel Assistance

In case of incidents caused by the customer's negligence, such as breakdown due to lack of fuel, loss of key, broken key, flat tire, discharged battery, loss of helmet, or others, a fee of 100€ plus assistance fee will be charged.

   17.Loss of Vehicle Documents

In case of loss of vehicle documents, a fee of 100€ will be charged to the customer.

   18.Additional Driver

To obtain coverage from the insurance, the driver must be properly mentioned in the rental contract, with an additional cost of €5 per day.

   19.Additional Helmet

Whenever the vehicle is occupied by more than one passenger, a fee of €15 will be charged.

   20.Civil Liability Insurance

Included in the daily rate, it covers material and personal damages caused to third parties.

   21.Extras

1. Delivery and pick-up in Lajes do Pico - €60 per service.

2. Delivery and pick-up in São Roque do Pico - €40 per service.

3. Airport and Maritime Station Transfer Service subject to availability - Price to be determined.

   22. Use of the vehicle in other Islands

The Transportation and use of the vehicle in other Islands is strictly prohibited and will be penalized with the deposit of 250€ being taken and also being taken for any other inconveniences.
